Moira Smiley + VOCO will be touring her latest program, 'The Voice is A Traveler', featuring Los Angeles-based Jake Asaro and Gregory Fletcher, and Vancouver-based Dawn Pemberton and Karla Mundy. The Voice Is A Traveler uses these five voices and bodies in harmony to sing songs and tell stories of home and exile: longing and belonging; real and metaphorical border crossings. Folk songs, percussive movement, and original polyphony pull from Moira’s 'Unzip The Horizon' Album and Choral Songbook, interwoven with songs she's collected in her constant travels. Expect magnificent, hair-raising performances – music that mourns and dances at the same time.
